'PowerComputing "at the end of its rope..."'
, 'Power to push Apple limits...'
and 'Motorola appears to be involved in Apple/Power saga'

all at: macosrumors.com

Summary of above rumors is as follows:

o Power may have as little as a week of operating capital left before
having to either drastically reduce its workforce to a skelton
crew or shut down entirely pending a move to reach some kind of
agreement with Apple;

o PowerComputing may indeed begin selling the PowerTower Pro G3 275
model on time, using older PowerTower Pro ROMs - making the machine
more or less a PowerTower Pro with an upgrade card installed.
Whether or not this will allow Power to get around Appl lawsuits on
the matter is not clear, but we may find out soon;

o According to two industry sources, the Apple/Power situation is
bigger than once thought. Motorola appears to be involved somehow,
and may actually become the second large Apple investor with a
stock buy of $300 million or more, according to one source. Both
sources also said that the general feeling in their corners of the
industry is that the Power buyout is going through, although
neither was able to give any confirmable statements either way.

Also, rumors are circulating of a possible move by Dell in these
matters with the now-freelance Joel Kocher, but nothing reliable
has yet been put before us.

All above are pure rumors or speculations from MacRumors source.
But, I think Motorola and IBM may be involved in such dispute between
Apple and Power. I am not surprised if Motorola becomes the second
large Apple stockholder, even Umax may start buying into Apple to
ensure its future position.

IMHO
