The atrocities in Nam were real and a daily occurence. Kerry exposed the dark side of our war there. It took courage. It helped end the war. He deserves great credit for this. He has also apologizes if his revelations hurt anyone's pride or feelings. But the truth is the truth.

Kerry wasn't some bystander. He himself was up in the most dangerous free fire zone in Nam. In some cases they killed innocent people. He personally witnessed a lot of bad stuff and heard about a lot more from the guys who did it (or had no choice but to do it). He killed more than 20 men personally, some of whom could have been non-combatants.

The CIA also ran The Pheonix Program, which was a long assassination program using mainly Navy SEALS to sneak in and kill VC suspects. The killing methods were terrorist type, beheadinga and disembowlments were common, as they were meant to terrify, Just like the struff in ABu Graib but worse. Also, wasn't Agent Orange and Napalm an atrocity too?

By the way, 100 more dead in Iraq today, so yes war is ugly and it is hell. Quit trying to whitewash Vietnam.
