That's normal civilian pay for hazardous or remote duty. A long, long time ago I did the remote duty bit. Adjusting for inflation, those numbers are about right. And we had military men at the same location making 10%-20% of what we did.

Funny. A Democrat was President then, too. Why, you'd think a "man of the people" wouldn't allow that, wouldn't you?

Or does economic reality have to be faced? I wasn't a soldier. They couldn't order me there. They had to bribe me to put up with those conditions instead of being comfy in the 48.
