Don't try to hide behind the UN, Mark.

(If toppling Saddam was proscribed in Desert Storm, so to was the recent war totally unauthorized by the UN... which makes your point rather vapid.)

That is not what I argued, anyway.

I argued that failing to go the extra two days was a STRATEGIC blunder of immense proportions (we could have always thought of some rationale for not leaving things in such a mess, with the Dictator still in power)... and that it was deeply shameful (akin to the Bay of Pigs betrayal, but WORSE) to urge the peoples of Iraq to rise up in rebellion against the Dictator, promise them US support (in a televised Presidential speech) for that noble cause --- and then cravenly stand by and watch then get slaughtered.
