I'm motivated to get power. I'd love to be President. Why? Not because of the power in and of itself, but because I think I can do a better job helping this country than others can... and a little 'cause I'd like my own Monica ;)

I'd say that every liberal who has run for President since the beginning of this country has run because he wants power. And same with every conservative. Power is not necessarily an end in itself. People want power because it helps them mold the country (and the world) into a form that fits their worldview better -- so what? As long as they have a worldview I can agree with, I'm fine with that.
