We didn't go into either action with sufficient resources. We could have done a lot of good in both places, but we tried to do it on the cheap. To cut and run would make the sacrifices that our troops have made meaningless. And that would be criminal. We cannot make the same mistakes we made in Vietnam. Not only is it stupid, it is self-destructive.

If we don't cut and run, when do we leave? When democracy has taken hold? When the Iraqi gov't for better [democratic] or for worse [despot]firmly has the reins in its grasp? Sorry I don't want to wait around another 10 years hoping that democracy will bloom in this hell hole when it never had a chance of working in the first place.

You've got to know when to cut your losses. Bush started a war he could not finish and we should honor that stupid decision by spending more and more billions and losing more and more Americans. I don't think so. I am willing to stick it out in Afghanistan where there is a multilateral effort but I want to pull out of Iraq asap.
