Al Gore got the majority of the votes in 2000. What he did not get was the mix of the majority votes to tip the electoral college in his favor. So if Kerry can maintain that majority but spread it across the country better than Gore did then he is in. (Nader or not)

So what is different now. Ohio (jobless workers), Missouri, possibly Arizona (state with veterans for John McCain) etc. And these are the states looking good for Kerry. I am sure he will hold onto Pennsylvania (Teresa country). And Florida is a tossup but the senior citizens there are taking a harder look at the Medicare bill and as soon as they realize that it does them more harm than good, they turn to Kerry.

So things have already tilted towards Kerry. But the press will want us to not loose interest in the elections and stop reading their commentaries. And they will continue to project it as a dead heat until say October when the truth will really come out with their projections of a Kerry landslide.

I know of many Republicans who will either stay home and others with biting conscience will come out to perform their sacred duty of exercise their voting rights and either vote for Kerry or Nader but definitely not Bush which they did do in 2000.
