Well, the fact is, all this crap Jewel has post to you is just a lot of towelheaded nonsense, taken out of its context. Half of it consists of run-on sentences given to muslims and therefore they do not apply to non-believers of islam.

The quote from 2:256 in "The Cow" is, to some, completely corrupted. She simply posted a very small bit of the verse to falsely hock islam as a religion of peace. When we read texts, we should at least try to read them in greater context, to see how they link with other texts. It may help us see a better view of the thing. A fuller quote of 2:256 is here:

[2:256] There shall be no compulsion in religion: the right way is now distinct from the wrong way. Anyone who denounces the devil and believes in GOD has grasped the strongest bond; one that never breaks.

To be sure, the "god" mentioned in the text is heathen allah and not any god one chooses to believe, certainly not the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

A direct translation presents the verse like this: "There IS no compulsion in religion; truly the right way has become clearly distinct from error; therefore, whoever disbelieves in the Shaitan and believes in Allah he indeed has laid hold on the firmest handle..." religiousbook.net

Accordingly, some islamic "authorities" don't even consider this verse a verse dealing with tolerance of all religions. The verse simply describes that compulsion does not exist in religion because the right way is clear. So those who follow islam's god have a solid compass of rightness ("the firmest handle"). When we take a look at the fuller text, we see nothing in it reasonably demands muslims tolerate all religions.

Other scholars explain the verse by claiming that while compulsion ought not exist, "coercion" can.

Still others claim that if persecution exists, then the brutal retaliation described in the Quran can be rendered upon non-muslims. And very many muslim "authorities" consider merely preaching the Gospel to muslims or talking about the God of Israel to muslims to be an act of persecution worthy of those brutal retaliations. Indeed, this view is quite common all across the islamic world. As a result, virtually the entire islamic world is filled with savages. Since there is no real governing authority over these perceptions of the Quran, no one, not Jewel, not Saddam, not Al Sadr, not Osama, anyone, is in position to claim anyone else abuses islam. Islam can indeed be legitimately taken as a religion that calls for war against true believers.

As for Jewel's capitalized and impled claims about islam's belief in Jesus, it is all just a lot of leftist heathen lies. Muslims no more believe in Jesus than they believe in sodomizing a pig. The Jesus of islam is some other guy, just a guy, a powerless human idol as is mentioned here:

"*2:254 One of Satan's clever tricks is attributing the power of intercession to powerless human idols such as Jesus..." submission.org;

He is not the Son of the Living God as Jesus Himself claimed. Indeed, muslims claim their god never had a son. Clearly then, their god is not our God, and their Jesus is something altogether different than the Lamb Who was slain for the sins of the world, and Who now intercedes on our behalf before the God of all.
