It looks like that Amkor is desperately increasing it's capacity in order to recover its loss of market share without first tapping the existing resources and increasing productivity and efficiency.

They first made an unsuccessful attempt to raise price, but ended with losing more market share, and had to set back. Their irresponsibility is hurting, and perhaps will continue to hurt the entire chip backend business community.

The right approach for Amkor is to improve their productivity and efficiency, reduce their debts, then compete in a smaller scale.

If the business down turn hits again now (in an unlikely situation), Amkor's only choice left could be bankruptcy.
