My hunch is that we're in the middle of a slow recovery that will surprise most as to its duration.

The slower it starts - the longer it will run.

In the initial stage - the pop up to the natural growth rate is always faster after many/most of business has been pared down and right sized.

There are so many distractions that this slower growth rate coupled with uncertainty and the Election mud throwing - well lets just say is not good for equities ever.

In the long run, aggregate corporate profits are up big.Employment is getting traction and has momentum.Last months 112,000 jobs was a let down but a year ago it would have been a miracle. So in a longer term perspective the trend is very good.

At the end of the day I believe the big trends will equate to equities going up in price. We need confidence to displace uncertainty and that will occur.

In the mane time, those who take advantage of the discount in stock prices will be able to cash in on the discount when a market attitude changes.
