"I completely agree with your wounded bear analogy--MK--"

Pols always seem to want a 'free lunch'... like children, they want to eat their desserts first, and never mind their vegetables.

(Bush I stopped 2 days short of Baghdad... and thought he could entice disaffected groups, long downtrodden under the Dictator, to rise up and toss Saddam out, and give us the win without the pain and diplomatic effort. Then he sold the rebels down the river, and stood by and watched the slaughter.)

Pols today, as per usual, are all for cutting taxes (especially taxes on their own bases)... and lower taxes are a very good thing... but they NEVER have the guts to cut the deficit spending, 'special tax preference items' (pork and national industrial policies) that must be cut to prevent the creeping harms from continued massive deficits from over-whelming the benefits of lower rates.
