Re. Ibexx:Also, intresting thing to compare is : ira and non ira accounts ( how well u can do w.out tax consequences) stocks vs. leap accounts.

Of the 3 full service houses I currently use, only 1 allows limited option tradings (the one in CA, of course). The other 2 in NY do not, as a matter of general policy. It has nothing to do with size of account nor frequency of trading. Anyway, taxes consequences are no longer my primary considerations behind the buying or selling of stocks and options. (They used to be, but quality and timing of my decisions were compromized at times because of it.)

Lately I have taken profits in most of my small cap/mid caps stocks. The combination of Wall Street's yearend mentality (tax selling, for example) and market's nervousness could be very unkind to the small issues, despite what the pros have told you that they may be the next wave--I highly doubt it.

Just my rambling thoughts....
