OK.. Here is some incorrect information that I feel compelled to correct.

<After 3-4 years of availability in the Bay Area 15,000 subscribers is dreadful.>
david.....
Well..... The Ricochet service has really been marketed in the bay area for 20 months. Service was available in some small areas before that ( Like Cupertino ) but that is all. Metricom did not really start to market in the Bay Area until most of the area was covered by the network. That was at the end of 1995.

How many cellular subscribers do you think there were in the Bay Area after it had been on line for 20 months?

<How do they get to 100-200 kbs? I thought that the wire back-bone itself is limited to 128. >
No. There are T1 lines into the WAPS, and if there is a point where that is not enough, we simply get another T1 line to the WAP. Much like you would get a second phone line to handle the required BW of a teenager.

< What if all their subscribers started listening to NetRadio? ie, what is the through-put at capacity?>
david...
Since the network is vary scalable, adding more radios to the network will increase he capacity of the network. If capacity became an issue in a given area, more radios and WAPS in that area solves the problem.

<I assumed that the Overall Wireless deal was making a statement about the limitation of their technology. >
david
HARDLY! The spectrum that we would have gotten from the "Overall Wireless deal" was not intended to be used for same purpose as the Ricochet network It was to be used for something else entirely. There is no "hidden statement" here about the < limitation of their technology.>

<What happened to the utility business? It just fell off a cliff.>
david....
NOPE.... It may not be as big as it was at one point, but it has not fallen off a cliff. There is still a lot of activity in that part of the building!

<My thought is that shareholders don't get much consideration in an outfit like this.>
david
Well.... I am a shareholder and I disagree

<Why not take your money to Las Vegas and place it on red? At least then you have close to a 50% chance of winning.>
David
Because I have 50% chance of losing as well, I think the MCOM odds are better!
