Wrong! The conspiracy is all about controlling the Holy Land and other Judeo-Christian assets, and ensuring that the elite few profit from these bloody crusades. Opposing the Crusades, and the Bible trade, is a real way to oppose the conspiracy to control our lives. Oil is used by the conspirators to confuse (left-leaning) people and to get them to focus on other issues that aren't relevant to the central issue at hand. It's a diversion, and it works brilliantly. If I were at the pinnacle of a conspiracy and worried that people might actually wise up and try to challenge our group of conspirators, there'd be nothing I'd like better than to see liberals focusing on diversions like oil. It's a great way to keep them preoccupied, which is exactly why our fearless mountebank Michael Moore invokes Saudi Arabia so often while talking about the "War on Terrorism". It's so easy to get the masses to oppose a war that is allegedly based on greed. But, it's not their real motivation, ideology and other mind-control myths are the real motivations. If it was just oil, why didn't Europe --read: France and Germany-- fight alongside the US in their current Iraq war? After all, Mideast oil is much, much more vital to Europe than it is to the US: besides the Mideast supply, Europe doesn't have any alternative lifeline --apart from a few patches deep down the North Sea and quite expensive to pump out... The US, for its part, has its own domestic oil (Texas, Alaska,...) plus its South American turf: Mexico, Venezuela,.... Clue:

Somehow, "oil" is a convenient decoy for US elites to rationalize their warmongering --it's a RACIST discourse that allows them to brand the enemy --the "ugly Arab"-- as the irrational alien, the fanatical terrorist... whereas Americans, Israelis, Westerners are portrayed as rational contenders. Americans are "civilized", hence they conceivably couldn't indulge in fanatical, irrational warfare! Americans are business-minded, no-nonsense, cool-headed entrepreneurs --they'll fight only for RATIONAL goals like "oil", "market share", "the bottomline", etc.
Well, the truth is, Americans are as, if not more, fanatical as Hezbollah warriors... just look at your militia freaks.
Now you ask: If it was just religion, why didn't we fight alongside the Israelis in their religous wars? But you ARE fighting alongside the Israelis!! And you've been all along. Remember the USS Liberty affair: President Lyndon B. Johnson didn't hesitate to SACRIFICE the USS Liberty for Israel's sake. LBJ ALLOWED the Israeli military to sink a US observation ship in a cunning attempt to pin it on Egypt IF things turned sour for Israel --providing the White House with the PR "smoking gun" to bring American troops into the Arab-Israeli war...
