.Kerry's Candidacy Clouded by Too Many Lies

In the funny papers, the Peanuts strip character, Pig Pen, goes from frame to frame with a dark cloud hanging over his head.
For several months the John Kerry candidacy has been developing such a cloud.
It is a fog of lies and baseless accusations, hurled with abandon and glee, by an unending parade of Democrats determined to shape the coming election. It is an all-out attempt to reacquire the presidency, and has succeeded in severely clouding the Kerry candidacy.
Prominent Democrats, among this swirling cloud, have agreed to demean themselves by lying. Bookstore shelves offer numerous Democratic titles with some permutation of ''lying'' prominently in their titles. That the lies behind the titles have been exposed does not stop their sale.
The cloud of lies is not restricted to book titles.
Before the convention focused the glare of the national spotlight on them this week, Democratic prevaricators were out in force.
Ted Kennedy rarely passed a microphone without accusing that George Bush ''concocted'' the war in Texas for ''political gain.''
Al Gore screeched at the top of his lungs that George Bush ''betrayed our country'' and '''played on our fears.'' And in what has to be the longest, loudest, misplaced grudge retention in recent history, Gore still screams that George Bush was ''selected not elected'' in the 2000 election. Even liberal organizations doing recounts found that Bush had the votes to win. The Supreme Court simply insisted that Florida follow its own election law.
Hillary Clinton shrieked that she is ''sick and tired'' that anybody who ''disagrees'' with George Bush is labeled unpatriotic.
Ambassador Joe Wilson accused the Bush administration of outing his undercover CIA wife, in retaliation for his negative report from Niger about Saddam Hussein trying to buy yellowcake. He salivated about having Karl Rove ''frog marched'' out of the White House, before he was disgraced and discredited by the 9/11 Commission.
Richard Clarke praised the actions of George Bush and National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice in handling 9/11--until he was laterally transferred. A cushy book deal with monumental publicity (and possible spot in a Kerry presidency) happened after his praise turned to the harshest of criticism. The claims in his book were discredited by the 9/11 Commission also.
Michael Moore produced a ''documentary'' which has been thoroughly discredited, with more than 50 lies pointed out by Dave Kopel. Yet Moore is still making millions from the showings, despite the 9/11 Commission clearly debunking the basic premise of Moore’s fiction.
Sandy Berger, national security advisor to Bill Clinton, admitted going into the National Archives, and removing code level Top Secret documents--in his pants. He claims ''sloppy'' habits caused him to take and ''discard'' some documents concerning the nation’s security. We cannot be sure of his intentions or actions, and whether he ''took'' or ''placed'' documents--or both.
Kerry himself has done nothing definitive to distance himself from this swirling cloud. He only acts when public scrutiny forces a response. His prodigious flip flops make it impossible at times to know the truth of his beliefs. He has ''dropped'' some of these Democrats from his inner circle, but his actions are far from sufficient.

Pinocchio is only a fairy tale, but the Kerry candidacy ''nose'' is now exceedingly long. Kerry has neither the integrity nor judgment to be President of the United States. His candidacy continues in far too much of a … cloud.
