That was the first story (oil and petrodollar) I read prior to the actual invasion. At first, it was quite convincing, that petrodollar is of utmost importance to prevent the dollar collapse. I was told by several sources that it's very lame, irrational, and that's not reality. In fact, I am now convinced it is impractical.

Here is Gustave's assessment and it gives better perspective:
