Because the President ask Congress for autorisation to go to war and Congress gave it to him. The President needed to ask the hard questions. He was the one to make the decision to go to war. He is the commander in chief for God sake. We need someone who will ask the hard questions. We know form O'Neil and Clarke that the current President doesn't do that.
