JF, Most people thought Clinton would be worse... but like other recent Democrats, he wasn't.
I often criticize the polarized political climate in this country, but in the case of the Clinton administration, six years of partisan gridlock helped a lot in controlling spending. Of course, Clinton gets all the credit.
You could vote for Kerry and bet that a Republican-controlled Congress, stung by a Bush loss, will return to fiscal conservatism. Of course last time, the economy was so strong that partisan gridlock was the best thing for the nation. Not sure that's the case these days.
Besides, you vote in California, and Kerry should easily carry CA. If he doesn't easily carry CA, then all hope is probably lost, so your vote doesn't count for much in the scheme of things.
Well, I hear Ah-nuld will be speaking at the GOP convention. I keep hearing the battle will be for the so-called "swing states," but it's hard for me to think that a state that just recalled a Democrat governor stands no chance of voting for Bush.
