Sonki, The market swings is becomming more intense than I can ever remember so volatility is something we are going to have to live with.
Yes i do like Dell over Compaq but I just wanted to have a little of Compaq and Applied Materials for the portfolio longterm.

I have not been a follower or interested in GM for a long term investment as I am not interested in insturments that throw off dividends. Philip morris is the only exception to this.

Although I realize you have a good feeling for Leaps you will have to contend with the timing of expirations in the event of a serious prolonged market decline. If you have leaps which is approaching your 6 month expiration target and the market suffers a steep retraction due to a recession, what will you do? Always watch for the long bond yield.
