And the beat goes on...

It never ceases to amaze me as to how long the politicians,
the automotive and energy industry can defend their self interests at the expense of the consumer and our country.

Coal continues to expand in spite of the fact that the cost per ton has gone from thirty dollars to sixty dollars a ton
in the past year. Oil is now forty-three dollars a barrel, while at the same time we have been depleting our natural gas to the point where we are forced to import it. Which brings up another hot issue. In order to import the necessary quantity of natural gas they have to first liquify it in order to ship it. They then have to convert it back into a natural gas state upon arrival in this country. For those of you not aware the coastal areas
involved in receiving these shipments are vehemently opposed
to having these highly dangerous facilities in their back yard and are putting up quite a fight.

You would think that in light of these incredible increases in price and problems associated with it that it would at long last provide a highly competitive advantage to solar. Instead the response from the energy industry and the government is that the alternative energy industry is sorely inadequate. It represents less than one percent of our energy needs and we have been at this for over thirty years. This is the message that is hammered upon the public. Unfortunately, the public is simply not informed
otherwise.

Additionally, for anyone not aware the energy industry is the largest industry in the world. Might that have some bearing on the on-going fight to bring about alternative energy?

Regards.
