Look again. Bush drove an oil company into the ground, and still got a sweetheart deal (from his daddy's friends) for the Rangers. Do you think you or I would have gotten those opportunities with his track record? Poor business record, reports of heavy drinking and DUIs, average grades, no history of leadership? I think not.
Look closely at Bush. Mediocrity resulting in advancement; average grades, poor business results, yet bigger and bigger opportunities; THAT is the road of the rich and powerful (well, maybe it the road of the sons of the rich and powerful).
On the other hand, Kerry eschewed the road of his fellow rich kids, volunteering for Vietnam. He then got his head handed back to him in his first two elections; an important lesson in how to be humble and not arrogant. He worked as a prosecutor, then twenty years as a distinguished Senator.
A huge contrast, in service, character, and accomplishment. Bush couldn't carry John Kerry's hat. |
