It is too big a subject for here. I liked the book a lot. I used a number of the ideas. I believe in positive strokes and providing lots of help whenever needed. But sometimes in American families, including mine, the kids make a big fuss when they are trying to launch themselves. The book helped me understand that I don't have to solve every problem. Nor do I have to deny the kids (now all 35+ btw), the pleasure and pain of experiencing consequences. The result for me has been that my kids and I are great friends now. Our relationship has totally transcended parent/child to one of adult respecting and caring about another adult.
