Kerry voted for the largest military budget of all time, plus he voted FOR every single weapons system the right cherry-picks votes he made against them (often in tandem with the Republicans) except MX Missile system which was a complete outrageous boondoggle. It was Bush Sr. and Cheney who boasted of the peace dividend after the Cold War ended. Everyone wanted those defense cuts and intelligence reorganzations, everyone. And now the GOP attacks Kerry for his part in it? Outrageous. in 1971, Kerry used graphic language but he was 100% right about how out of control and savage the war had become, and blamed it squarely on the leaders, never the troops, He was right and helped end that war, thereby saving thousands of lives. Many vets would be dead if not for Kerry. Deal with it.
