I'm with you
oh Geezus now I'm in deep shit.
but thank you, the Indians makes lots of claims to lots of things and like lots of things, lots of the things they claim aren't true, lots are, so be it. Samurai swords are something else, did you see Kill Bill, and what did you think. Did you know that Uma Thurmans father is a Buddhist big wig. Did i say that Buddhism isn't strictly speaking a religion, this one's a little tricky because while I very much agree with your characterization as such on the one hand, but nothing really really major happens on the other if you aren't very serious about the practice. Even so, lower order effects can still make a big difference to one's quality of life imo. As practice deepens it can come to take on a quality that might be known as religion, there is lots of ritual too but at base, these are cultural artifacts of time, peoples and places, and have little to do, even nothing, with the core teachings. This stuff is for everybody yes, and the word from the top chap is that folks should stick to their traditions and find the light therein, and only after doing this, if you are really really serious about it, then become a buddhist.
btw, love those old toilets. |
