If everybody put away that 10%, there would be few problems retirement. But I'm not sure you could make it law. Sure you could. Replace SS with this and put it in private savings accounts. You are forced to contribute, and you can direct the investments yourself. Some south american countries do it this way and it is very successful. Everybody wins. Naturally we'd have to ween ourselves off the current SS and do it a little at a time, but I would be thrilled to see this happen. This is, after all, what the reps want to see happen. You're sounding almost republican today John <g>. Brian
