I think both are the same (in principle), only the reward may not always be tangible. There has to be something in it for the recipient.

Of course there's something in it for the recipient. They are fundamentally different, though. The difference is one is internally generated--the reward is something for which the doer has a hunger--and the other is external--stimulus and movement, more stiumulus, more movement. And that one works dramatically better than the other. <g>
