Of course, if by everyone you mean the middle class. They have been acclimated to think themselves entitled to the dole because they paid in, unlike the down and out. The NIMBY effect. You look at that as mean and ugly and I agree that it is. I look at it as a systems problem, the inevitable result of a corrupting notion of entitlements. You want to fix it by stopping the meanness and ugliness and doing right by the down and out courtesy of the taxpayer. I want to fix it by disabusing the country of its attachment to entitlements. Your fix addresses the symptom but can never fix it because human nature is human nature. My fix addresses the underlying cultural and fiscal problem.
