I will give you the benefit of the doubt and think you don't feel that way. War, Crime Fighting any aggressive endeavor tends to attract or reveal some people that have sick tendencies. The majority of people in combat don't feel as you described, the public doesn't either. True there is some loss of sensitivity due to media bombardment, but the human element always surfaces. At least in our culture to date.

You may be reflecting more on your own experience than that of the masses. Possibly you believe Democrats have feelings and few Republicans due. If so, you have been suckered by propaganda. People are people and seeing pain nearly always results in sympathy, empathy and compassion....in our culture. Don't divorce yourself from sensitivity.

By and large, the people couldn't care less if our soldiers did or didn't butcher Vietnamese people.
