Big Govt, More Govt, Scary Govt
Bush Calls for New Intelligence Director

"I don't think the person should be a member of my Cabinet," Bush said. "I will hire the person and I can fire the person. ... I don't think that the office should be in the White House, however, I think it should be a stand-alone group to better coordinate."

Bush wants total authority over who occupies the office. What's the difference between being a cabinet level post or not? Cabinet members must be approved by the Senate. Non cabinet positions have no congressional oversight.

Now what do we need this office for?
We added a dept of homeland security did we not.
Are they not doing their job?
Do we have a CIA?
Do we need another group that does not talk to the CIA, the FBI, and the Dept of Homeland Security?

This goes beyond annoying to downright scary.
A no congressional oversight intelligence function.
Our bill of rights gets weaker by the minute wuth this idiot in the whitehouse.
