Is this a problem elsewhere

Speed cameras are chock-a-block in the UK in both the cities and the motorways (Freeways). The minimum fine for speeding is £60, and some sets photo thousands of speed incidents every day. I used to work near one of them and it was flashing speeders about once every minute.

The police think this is wonderful, and are using the proceeds to buy some expensive high tech equipment to trap speeders miles away.

The line played is that these cameras save lives through reduced accidents. I would seriously question the statistics as the police force and politicians compulsively lie and fiddle numbers in this country. I would agree that
controlling speed is a good idea but, the fines are way to high and the points taken off the UK license too severe.

If there is stock I can invest in this lucrative business then I would probably buy some. Just sit back and look at the money rolling in, and say you are "helping to save lives".
