Next time, Johannes, why don't you bother to read and think for yourself instead of pre-judging?
We all know that you are quite capable of it, you don't get confused or lost in long exchanges (like some here do). So, mentally you are no doubt up-to-snuff.
This, in fact, was the very gist of my complaint to PRO --- he said he knew what I would think about the speakers at the Dem convention before it ever happened.
He was wrong.
I pointed out that yes, I watched a good bit of the 'speecifying', and that I rated the speakers I'd seen as to the quality of the speeches (delivery, pace, construction, etc.) and that I'd given very few high marks.
I also intend to watch as much of the Rep. convention as I can, and do the very same thing (rate the speeches), as an intellectual exercise.
It really has nothing to do with my political leanings (Libertarian)... I simply have had a life-long interest in the professional exercise of rhetoric. A good, effective speech from a Republican is just as exciting to me as one from any other. |
