Cousin Ike--

It seems just a blink of an eye ago I was introducing myself to you and requesting your permission to post on your thread.

In this current day of cyberspace, time has not the same value it posessed in the very recent past when judgement consisted of personal contact and individual interaction.

We all sit in front of a computer, whether it be hours or moments on line, in a minute universe --- the keyboard being our tounge, the monitor being our eyes, deprived of smell and touch and hearing----the five pipelines to our brain and intellect reduced to but a pair, and yet this pair is indeed only a singleton--our eyes alone supply informational input. Yet our emotions are free to operate as normal, unrestricted, even though the stimuli necessary to their supposedly proper function has been diminished by 80 %.

Perhaps this is the true message and meaning to this information superhighway.

Could it be that this is freedom ?

All reading this posting know that "someone" typed it. None reading "knows for sure" anything about the poster---- neither the race, gender, age, height, weight, physical dimensions---- nor any other of the typical "inputs" required to perform normal judgements that each and every one of us do every single day. BUT, I hazard a guess, as concerns finiancial markets, none reading this can come with a more proficient grouping of folks who converse daily, on a frequent basis, than the Idea thread. To be a small part of such a group takes my breath away.

My old Dad, rest his soul, tried to teach me these things--
caution,
look before you leap,
haste makes waste,
a fool and his money are soon parted,
and a heck of a lot of other VERY good things.

He also instructed me to act promptly when opportunity presented itself.

Where do I send my $5K ?

I'm getting old and senile and am not usually up and on line at @ 2:00 AM CST----use to be that was when I just started to "get in high gear", but that was long ago and in a world far away. >>ggg<< But I have just spent a a very enjoyable evening with my wife and youngest daughter in celebration of the second anniversary of my wife's triple bybass surgery. God has been so very kind to us.

Regards---Nemer '
