A RANT TO ALL

I live in a small Ozarks community of about 6000 folks (mostly republican).

As I always do, I voted early (before 7 a.m. As I approached the voting place, my expectations of an anticipated larger than normal turnout was confirmed. As it turned out the time in line to vote turned out to be 30 minutes as compared to the normal two or three minutes at this time of the morning.

When I was given what appeared to be a oversized ballot, an epiphany took place. It wasn't the normal punch card ballot I was used to, It was a manual, blacken the open circle, next to your candidate type of ballot.

After those disputed(?} 2000 national elections, literally millions of dollars of air time and education (ad nauseam) of how a punch ballot can produce dangling chads, etc., we have been thrown back into the dark ages of casting a vote, the old fashion way.

I love it, but what a bureaucracy! (G)
