Mexican and Venezuelan oil are "peanuts" compared to Iraqi and other Middle East oil! Also, it is practical to use oil from elsewhere first than to use the oil in one's own backyard. If Mexican and Venezuelan oil are tapped now, I believe the influx of Mexicanos and Venezuelanos into the US could be such as to make Americans strangers in their own country.
