Here is a theory about walking,or traveling.

turkgenealogy.com

Which leaves plenty of room for speculation.

What would they need to know to travel?
The ability to carry water, in skins, gourds or bamboo.
A portable food supply, like dried meat , or an ability to catch fish in the oceans they followed.
Ability to communicate with other tribes along the way
else they may be destroyed.
Ability to cross streams or rivers running into the ocean. Build some kind of boat or cut logs- tools.
A defence against wild animals like tigers. Perhaps fire and punk to make the fires portable.
A reason to keep traveling, or was it just curiosity.?

Coastal dwellers would have a huge advantage, wherever there is water there are fish to eat. Fishing probably one of the older occupations

Have fun
