The proper response to Moore's question is that with an all-volunteer military, it is the choice of the individual whether to risk his/her life serving in the military.

I would have answered, "If my child chooses service in the Armed Forces of the United States I would support that child in that honorable endeavor. I would support my child upholding the oath taken by each military member. I would be forever proud that my child chose a front row seat to defend our democracy and preserve our freedoms."
