You will vanish, too.

yeah right., well that's not a bait I can swaloow right now, but I did see the acupuncture movie you mentioned and thought it was astonishing but radical quite unlike anything I'd seen or heard (or experienced) before, but I'm not a doctor so that don't mean squat, but the cultural schism reminds me of something I thought was similar and quite funny. Earlier this year I was in Nepal which was a bit hectic but anyway through this and that I met this guy, mid fifties I would say - he wants to start a new business exporting medicinal herbs to the US. He was totally legit ito his access to same and his knowledge as far as I could tell, but he only really wanted to talk about one thing - natural viagra. Of course I told him that we would be instant millionaires, and wondered why no one was doing this. That lasted for about a second until he explained to me what it was, which was a rare worm about the same size as your baby finger that lives above the treeline, and only comes out for about 6 weeks a year. Except for a brief discussion on the environmental sustainability of this endeavour, I didn't want to wipe out the worms, that part of it didn't sound very promising for there was no question of farming such things, impossible he said, but then we got to the part where he said that you had to eat it live and whole. This was the most natural thing in the world to him and he was very very excited about it, but I told him that he didn't understand the American market, when it came to this sort of thing they would much rather just pop a pill. I asked him if this could be taken dead, and he said no because then it tastes terrible, so I suggested crushing it up and putting it into some sort of honey base with a couple of other things. He looked at me with complete and utter perplexity. When I asked him what was the matter, he said that if if I killed it and crushed it, the qi would be gone in which case why would you go to all the trouble of doing this if it wasn't go work - it would simply be much more efficient to just send it fresh. He assured me he could get the visas he needed which in Nepal is a miserable business because of the absolutely unbelievable degree of corruption in the govt service such as it is. I was a bit skeptical that he could get such so easily, but maybe he had connections and anyway he said it was just better to eat it live, just like this, look. Needless to say I declined the offer. I said he might be more successful with his other leaves and barks and roots and things. Later we went into town to an internet cafe where we surfed the web together looking for international customers for his fledgling business. Found quite a few leads. Wonder what he's up to now.
