a full-scale Manhattan Project energy initiative
could reduce our oil imports by 20% in 10 years

worse, a moderate initiative might offset the GROWTH in energy dependence

I would prefer to spend $100 billion in inflated funny money on a massive project
it would actually employ a lot of people
(unlike the fictitious bullshite in jobs reports
it would produce some actual econmoic traction
(unlike the slippery slippage in econmoic growth underway)

how long before SUV's are abandoned with upside down car loans?
how long before SUV's line up dealer lots unsold?
how long before SUV's and other large cars stack up in Detroit inventories?

not long
that day is just over the horizon

my dream is for a massive array of sunpowered water separation plants to produce hydrogen all along the California, Texas, Florida, and Carolina coasts
I believe Mexico will beat us to teh punch, with US money
(since they will be a lower cost producer, the nightmare will continue even into new chapters)
