Vietnam vets against kerry cannot offset the kerry swift boat crew who were there with him in battle.

I disagree. The thing that finally helped Kerry, a vague figure to me, snap into focus, was hearing Admiral Zumwalt's son relay what Zumwalt, Kerry's commanding officer, had to say about his service.

Zumwalt's assessment of Kerry was, "He requires constant supervision." If you've ever supervised another human being, you know that this is the worst thing you can say about a worker.

When you supervise people, you learn a lot about them that isn't immediately apparent. No matter how intelligent, no matter how affable, even brilliant, if you have to watch them constantly, they're essentially worthless.

I'm curious to know whether the swift boat vets who still love Kerry ever amounted to a hill of beans themselves. The ones who hate him appear to have been pretty successful in life.
