perhaps my wording was imprecise.. i do consider an embryo "human" in some ways.. much more so past the first trimester. i'll admit that is a somewhat arbitrary cutoff, but i don't believe a 1 month old embryo experiences conscious life as humans know it. i guess am in some ways a utilitarian. i will also admit that as i have thought more about this issue, i have found it harder to defend the pro-choice position... imho, it simply cannot be done on moral grounds.. if one wants be pro-choice, one should accept the fact that you believe in a "necessary" evil ... (i.e. it is still an evil, but the good to society outweighs the harm done).
