I read that quote 35 years ago and 55,000 guys died. Are you willing to hang around here for 10 years and suffer 10,000 casualties and eventually leave without securing anything. If we are going to fight, lets do it. Crush Falujah resistance. Ignore collateral damage like we did during WW2 and Korea and let the chips fall where they may. I can live with that alternative too.
