Good news for Kerry (as I suspected). The new Marist Poll shows Kerry with only a 1% lead nationally, but IN BATTLEGROUND STATES KERRY LEADS BY 7%. That is huge. This is what I've been saying, that this year the battleground states are not very Bush-friendly. This is for a combination of reasons. Also, expect an even bigger DEmocratic turn-out that the pollsters are figuring.

This is why I've been saying that it's the Bush campaign which is the most worried now. Kerry should lock up all the Gore states plus New Hampshire, then Bush will be a position where he has to win every other battleground state; Florida, Ohio, West Virginia, Arizona, Nevada and Missouri. Can he do it? If he loses just one Kerry it the next president.
