Dream on. Pres Clinton appeared on Letterman last night. When asked whether the Bush Adm's recent security alert was a political move, Clinton responded--"No, I don't believe it was political...we should take it very seriously." Most importantly, whenever Clinton made positive comments about John Kerry the audience remained perfectly silent. That's highly unusual if the electorate is fired up for a particular candidate.

The icing on the cake was Letterman's remark that his uncle will be voting for Pres Bush because he believes it's not wise to change governments in the middle of military action like Iraq. Clinton responded that Kerry's most difficult challenge is to convince voters that he would be as determined to defeat terrorists as Pres Bush.
