Dwight, <Thought it was interesting that we didn't get a visit from Alphonse after the earnings announcement. Just to gloat and fuel the fires.>

With due respect, I thought about it whilst reading the negativity on the thread after the earnings (or lack thereof) were reported. But I suspected that the price would not drop--after following Novell closely for several years, one comes to expect the unexpected.

I would love to do more gloating, but am busy contacting my network of Novell folks regarding a buyout of this company. That would hurt my significant position. If the company remains independent, I will be a happy short. A very happy short, because Novell has no moves left to make on the proverbial chess board. Time is Novell's enemy.

The buyout possibility, though extremely unlikely, merits closer examination. One thing is certain--the more losses that Novell incurs, the less likely a candidate will take over the company due to how the US tax code treats tax loss assumption by an acquiring institution.

Short and proud.
