Fine. Let's change it. Do people steal for alcohol money?

Not much. Why? It's a legal commodity and is cheap- -fairly. It would be much cheaper with the heavy taxes put on it.

The same applies to drugs. Their price would drop dramatically if they were legal. They would be sold in stores rather than in back alleys. The enormous profits from a successful shipment and sale would be gone.

I'm not arguing there would be no cost (in human terms) to drug legalization. I do find it hard to believe it would be worse than the current situation with drug violence, gangs, and prisons full of drug felons supported by th taxpayers at $30K to $60K a year.

The war on drugs is lost. It's time to declare victory and go home.
