Kerry was 100% right about Iraq from the beginning. Also on terrorism. In 1999-2001 he made several major speeches warning Clinton but especially the incoming Bush that small terror cells inside the US are our #1 security concern. Those warnings were ignored like so many others were as we know from Richard Clarke.

On Iraq, Kerry voted for war power to enforce disarmament but on the condition that Bush keep his promises exhaust all diplomatic remedies, let the UN inspections be finished, go the UN route and have a solid peace plan in place. Bush had promised to go to war only as a last resort but that was a flagrant lie. If Bush had listened to Kerry we would be a far stronger shape today as a nation and many hundreds of Americans and thosuands of others would still be alive.
