that rail idea between dallas and houston, etc., never got off the ground for economic reasons. they weren't going to beat southwest with $19 flights. whatever the cost of the rail, i am sure southwest could have cut prices to make the rail unattractive for most people. luv is much higher than $19 now (way higher). by the way in japan they have 747s (or whatever they use today) leaving tokyo every 30 minutes (it may be more often now) for osaka. i took one one time when we had to get there fast. they ran the 747s like a bus service, because there was so much traffic.
