Unless you have been to Japan you cannot appreciate that the application of high speed rail in Japan and the US is a greater difference than an apple and a watermelln.

I also doubt that 2000 people with 2 solar panels makes very much electricity. How big are the panels and what is the climate they would be insalled in. A single power plant supplies far more than 2000 homes.
