I don't know if I'll be alive in 50 years to find out. But, if the polar ice caps melt away, you bet your ass, some of our coastal areas will be underwater. Many of our coastal areas are just 2 meters above sea level. Two things are true, science has recorded that the polar ice caps are melting at an accelerated pace, and sea levels are rising, albiet at a slow pace like milimeters per year, but it adds up over time. You can debate the causes, but you can't just ignore scientific facts.

Nature flucuates. Warming doesn't occur evenly. There are peaks and troughs over time. We'll still have cold winters from time to time. Europe had an unprecendently hot summer last year. 100+ tempeartures in England are unheard of.
