Re: Such an illness would explain the puzzle over why Bush was so slow responding to 9/11 when he was reading to students in a class. Someone had to tell him twice America was attacked before he responded.

Amy,

Do you remember that horrible day? I do, like it was yesterday. At first I, along with everyone else I knew, thought the first plane was an accident. What was the President to do at that point? After the second plane went into the WTC, he of course excused himself without panicking the children. For 3 years there were no such accusations because most people had enough common sense to realize nothing could have been done. NOW we are hearing the accusations fly....what interest does this possibly serve? Does Kerry even say what HE could have possibly done given the sequence of events as they werre unfolding? The planes were already en route to their targets and nobody had a good idea of how many there were or even WHERE they were.

And you say he was SLOW to respond....some people in the democratic party say he overreacted. You cannot have it both ways.

I cannot believe Kerry is politicizing this horrible day.

Brian
